                        The Southport Shrimping Rig's are fishing craft that are adapted from 4 wheel drive ex. army vehicles. The fishermen dismantle the original bodywork, Raise up the height of the transmition, Fit a diesel engine which is raised up, and build a purpose made body to suit their requirements. The Craft can then wade into the water to a depth of about 4 feet which is about the depth of water that the horses used to work in when they were used for shrimping.
